Condition Based Maintenance
US and allied forces spend billions of dollars on maintenance under time-based or phased maintenance intervals that ignore many facts and realities of operational use. Significant savings can be realized by using electronics and software to assess component health and the condition of platforms based on operational usage and applying maintenance according to engineering and statistical analyses that predict availability and readiness. Westar is the prime contractor to for the development and implementation of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) for the U.S. Army. Westar is leading efforts to create a dramatic reduction to the maintenance burden on soldiers, increase operational availability, and reduce operations and support costs.
