Stores, Loading and Balance (SLAB)

For Rotary and Fixed-Wing Aircraft
SLAB is unique in that it integrates both weight and balance and flight
performance (both Rotary and Fixed Wing) across a mission planning system
route (fuel burn and load changes).
Wherever possible, loading is specified by interacting with pictorial
depictions of the aircraft (defined in the individual aircraft modules).
The aircraft modules simplify the general user’s task, in that they
merely select the aircraft tail number they are flying, and the stored
default data auto-populates specific fields.
SLAB has two components: SLAB Client and SLAB Admin.
SLAB Client:
• Mission Planning System integration via a
Mission Planning Module
• Aircraft loading through pictorial depictions of the aircraft
• GUI with four data entry sections (if applicable): Fuel,
Crew/Passenger, Internal
Stores, External Stores
• Header section with Tail No. and Administrative fields
• Results Window with CoG graphical depiction
• W&B analysis for multiple route points
• Printing of respective reports (segment or entire route based)
SLAB Administrator:
• Fleet definition
• Fuel Types
• Unit Preferences
• Storage of basic weight and moment for each aircraft in a controlled
data file
• Allows Administrators to restrict load items in SLAB Client
• Definition of approved sling loads
• Addition of custom load items
