Westar Awarded $1.25B Army Contract

Huntsville, Alabama, June 1, 2000 -- After nearly a year in developing its team and bid, Westar Corporation announced today that it was selected by the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command as one of its winners in the "Omnibus 2000" technical support competition. The five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity award has a ceiling amount of $1.25B and allows all AMCOM and PEO users to contract for broadly defined engineering and technical services and limited or prototype production using a variety of time and materials, cost-type, or fixed-priced orders. According to the Government, throughout its history in supporting the Army, Westar demonstrated "exceptional ability to perform multiple diverse and complex tasks simultaneously in a manner that routinely exceeds the customer's expectations." William B.
