Westar Corporation Appoints Doug Childress as Chief Financial Officer
St. Louis, Missouri, March 17, 2003 -- Westar Corporation appointed Doug Childress as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Childress has over 20 years of financial experience. Childress was formally Chief Financial Officer of General Bandwidth in Austin, TX. While at General Bandwidth Childress was instrumental in raising over $180M in equity financing.
Prior to General Bandwidth Childress was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of TriStar Aerospace Inc. in Dallas, TX. TriStar was publicly traded on the NYSE prior to being acquired by Honeywell in December 1999. Doug and his family will relocate to the St. Louis, MO area.
