Westar Awarded $30M Special Ops Contract
St. Louis, Missouri, September 15, 2003 -- Westar is pleased to announce the award of a competitive contract to by the Technology Application Project Office (TAPO), Ft. Eustis, VA, for sustainment and further development, training, and support of the Common Transitional System – Army (CTS-A). Westar is responsible for the development, implementation and support of this single enterprise IT system that provides complete, accurate, and up to date information for managing all aspects of aircraft maintenance, readiness, and supply management for the Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) at its locations worldwide.
The multi-year year contract valued at over $30M provides the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) with an enterprise solution to manage its business processes for logistics and readiness using a powerful Decision Support System (DSS) engine for analysis and reporting of critical information.
Work will be performed by Westar at its operating locations including Ft. Campbell, KY, Huntsville, AL; Ft. Stewart, GA; Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond, KY; St. Louis, MO; and the K2 Airbase in Taegu, Korea.
According to Mr. Angel Gonzalez, Westar’s Program Manager, "CTS-A will integrate many important functions into a single enterprise application to make our forces even more agile and supportable throughout the world."
