NDIA Awards Dinner –- Kendell Phillips Selected for Defense Technology Award
In Huntsville Alabama, the National Defense Industrial Association Tennessee Valley Chapter announced on 29 April 2004 at its annual awards dinner recipients of the Medaris Award, the Defense Management Award and Defense Technology Award for 2004 were recognized. Mr. Kendell Phillips, Technical Director, System Test and Evaluation Planning and Analysis Lab (STEPAL), which supports the ground based midcourse defense system, and Vice President, Test and Evaluation Division, ELMCO, a Westar division. MG John Holley, Project Manager of the GMD Joint Program Office was present at the award ceremony along with Mr. Garrett Martz, President, ELMCO, a Westar Division.
The Defense Technology Awards are presented to up to four individuals (two government, two non-government) for outstanding technical achievement for the past two years. The awards consist of a plaque, a U.S. savings bond of $1,000, and their names are placed on a similar plaque in the Space and Missile Defense Command building on Redstone arsenal.
