Rod Bissell Joins Westar as Vice President of Marketing, SE Region
Huntsville, AL, January 11, 2005 -- Westar Aerospace & Defense Group, Inc. is pleased to announce an addition to its senior marketing team with the appointment of Rodney (Rod) Bissell as Vice President of Business Development. In this position, Bissell will be responsible for strategic opportunity discovery, qualification, and new business pursuit.
Prior to joining Westar Bissell was responsible for business development for Computer Sciences Corporation. In this position, he focused on opportunities for DoD and Armed Service-related programs resulting in the identification and capture of over $2 billion in business over a five-year period. In addition to serving over 22 years in the U.S. Army, Bissell has held positions as Technical Manager for Nichols Research Corporation and Assistant Project Manager for the Air-to-Ground Missile Systems Project Office on Redstone Arsenal, AL.
Bissell holds a B.A. from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and has concluded postgraduate studies in acquisition, program management, and public administration. He is a graduate of Army Command General Staff College, and a Level 3-certified Program Management graduate of the Defense Program Management and Contracting Courses.
