Army Space and Missile Defense Command Awards Westar $50M SIAP Contract

August 9th, 2005, St. Louis, MO. Westar Aerospace & Defense Group announced today that it was awarded a $50 million contract by the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command develop methods and engineer solutions to streamline and accelerate the injection of Single Integrated Air Picture (SIAP) technologies into the hands of U.S. and joint coalition war-fighters. The work will be completed at Westar and Government sites in Huntsville AL., Ft. Hood TX, and other locations around the world.

According to Bill Durham, Westar's Vice President for Tactical C4I Systems, "We've been working hard to improve information utilization and joint forces situational awareness for years, and based on our progress to date, our customer has again given us their confidence with this new important award. This is a great testament to our systems integration ability, field experience, and our people's prior successes managing the technical challenges to interoperability.
