Marine Corps Systems Command Selects Westar for BPA Contract

August 31, 2005, Washington DC. The Marine Corps System Command has awarded Westar Aerospace & Defense Group a new Prime BPA Contract to provide Engineering & Scientific Support Services. Westar’s new MARCOSYSCOM BPA is a component of the Marine’s Commercial Enterprise Omnibus support services (CEOss) contract vehicle. The value to Westar over the next five years is expected to be $30 million.

Westar and its team of subcontractors, including Foster-Miller, Inc., an affiliate in the QinetiQ North American group, will provide technical engineering assistance and support services to various Marine Product Groups and Program Offices, including those for Battlespace Management / Air Defense, C4ISR, and Armor & Fire Support. Westar’s other teammates include EG&G Corp., Wyle Laboratories, MTC Technologies, MCR Federal, RNB Technologies, Scientific Research Corporation, SURVICE Engineering Company.

Harry Radcliffe, Westar’s Program Manager, said: “We are proud to be selected as the only new supplier team to be added under the System Command’s Engineering and Scientific domain for FY 06.” Westar will manage the contract as part of its National Capital Region business base and from our new Project Office located in Dumfries, Virginia, just outside the gates of Marine Corps Base Quantico. Jim Williford, the Executive VP of Westar’s Washington office stated, “We are excited to be able to leverage synergies and technologies that we supply other branches in Iraq and Afghanistan to the benefit of the Marines.”
