September 22, 2005, Huntsville, AL. The US Army Aviation and Missile
Command awarded Westar an order valued at $120 Million for Battlefield
Automated Systems Engineering Support. The Westar team will provide software
design, development, engineering, test, and accreditation for software
used in air and ballistic missile defense, fire support, close combat,
aviation, C4I interoperability, ISR, and automatic test equipment. The
contract supports the Research, Development and Engineering Command’s
Software Engineering Directorate at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama where, with
the Company’s offices, most of the work will be performed. The task
order contract was awarded under Westar’s EXPRESS technical prime
contract, an effective multi-year omnibus contract vehicle under which
all efforts are competitively procured.
According to Garrett Martz, Westar's Chief Operating Officer, "We've
been working hard over the last five years to insure our Government customers
get the highest quality software engineering services in the industry.
The Army’s selection of Westar is a result of the hard work of our
experienced professional software engineering team who will again work
to improve system functionality, reduce systems cost, and get these important
systems fielded quickly. We are thrilled at the Government’s choice
of Westar to assist them with BASES.”
