Westar to Provide Software Engineering, Technical Support Services to Army's Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program
REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala., Nov. 14, 2006─ The U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office for Aviation has awarded Westar Aerospace & Defense Group, Inc., a $2.3 million effort to provide software engineering and technical support services for the development, testing and sustainment of the Army’s maintenance and logistics management system for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program, as well as develop and integrate new modules into the system.

Westar Awarded $2.7 Million Effort to Provide Technical Support Services to Army Reset Program
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 9, 2006 ─ The U.S. Army’s Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) has awarded Westar Aerospace & Defense Group, Inc., a $2.7 million effort to provide technical support services to the Army’s reset Program, whose goal is to expedite the restoration of helicopters returning from Iraq and Afghanistan to deployable condition.

William Goss Appointed Executive VP and CFO at Westar Aerospace & Defense Group
ST. LOUIS, Oct. 19, 2006 ─ Westar Aerospace & Defense Group, Inc., announced today that William E. Goss has joined the company’s senior management team as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), replacing Doug Childress who is leaving the company to pursue other business interests. In his new position, Mr. Goss will be responsible for the company’s accounting, finance, IT and legal departments, as well as for managing its merger and acquisition activity.

Westar to Provide Systems Engineering Support to Army Aviation's Apache Helicopter Fleet
ST. LOUIS, Oct. 19, 2006 ─ The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command (AMCOM) has awarded Westar Aerospace & Defense Group, Inc., a task order to provide airworthiness and qualification engineering support to the Apache Helicopter (AH-64) Division of the Aviation Engineering Directorate. The award’s value slightly exceeds $2 million, and includes five option years.

Army Aviation & Missile Command Achieves Certification for Condition Based Maintenance-Data Warehouse
WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 3, 2006 - Army Aviation & Missile Command (AMCOM) reached a milestone on August 25, 2006, when its Conditioned Based Maintenance-Data Warehouse (CBM-DW) program was certified for development by the Defense Business Systems Management Committee (DBSMC). The program’s approval was AMCOM’s first DBSMC certification.

March 27, 2006 - Westar Aerospace & Defense Group, Inc. has acquired Colorado-based SimAuthor, Inc. in an all-cash transaction for approximately $8 million.  SimAuthor is a software and services company that specializes in flight data visualization and simulation technology.
