Topping Named President & COO of QinetiQ North America
MCCLEAN, Va., March 15, 2007─ QinetiQ North America Operations
LLC, the U.S. subsidiary of international defense and security
technology company QinetiQ (LSE: QQ), has named Robert (Rob) Topping
as its President & Chief Operating Officer.
Topping was formerly President & CEO of Westar Aerospace & Defense
Group, Inc., which was acquired by QinetiQ in 2004.
In this newly appointed position, Topping will be responsible for
the business operations of QinetiQ North America (QNA). In addition,
he will have responsibility for the company’s Business Development,
Human Resources and IT departments, and will play a major role in
the integration of QNA subsidiaries and new acquisitions into a
single world-class technology and services company.
Commenting on the appointment, QNA Chief Executive Duane Andrews
said: “QinetiQ North America is fortunate to have a talented and
dynamic leader like Rob Topping in its ranks. In his prior position
as CEO of Westar, he demonstrated his ability to grow a business
organically and through acquisition. His experience and expertise

After becoming President of Westar in 1999, Topping led the company
through four acquisitions and the creation of two successful
spin-off companies, while growing Westar at a compound annual rate
of 34 percent.
