Martz Named President of Westar Aerospace & Defense
J. Garrett Martz has been named President of Westar Aerospace &
Defense Group, Inc., a leading systems engineering and technical
assistance provider to the U.S. Department of Defense, allied
governments and select commercial customers.
Martz replaces Robert (Rob) Topping, who was recently appointed
President & Chief Operating Officer (COO) of QinetiQ North America (QNA),
Westar’s parent company.
As Westar’s new president, Martz will be responsible for directing
the strategy of the company’s business development, financial,
legal, communications and human resources initiatives.
Commenting on the appointment, Topping said: “Under the highly
capable leadership of Garrett Martz, Westar will continue to grow
its business, as well as its reputation as a developer of technology
services that meet the most demanding needs of its customers.”
Prior to his new position, Martz served as Westar’s COO, responsible
for the operational management of Westar. He joined the company in
2003 as the result of Westar’s acquisition of ELMCO Inc., where
Martz was President & Chief Executive Officer. Martz earned a BS in
Electrical Engineering from Auburn University, and MS in Electrical
Engineering from Southeastern Institute of Technology.
