Army Aviation Technical Test Center Awards Westar $22 Million Task Order for Engineering Services
FORT RUCKER, Ala., July 27, 2007─ The U.S. Army Aviation
Technical Test Center (ATTC) has awarded Westar Aerospace & Defense
Group, Inc., a QinetiQ North America company, a five-year $22
million re-compete contract for engineering services.
Westar, which has served the ATTC for more than 20 years, will
provide engineering and aviation testing services, ranging from
developmental testing of advanced aircraft survivability systems to
complex Preliminary Airworthiness Evaluations of the MH-60M
Blackhawk helicopter for the Army’s special operations forces.
Westar also will assist in planning the integration of the ATTC with
the Redstone Technical Test Center in Huntsville, Ala., which will
form the new Redstone Test Center.
The Westar team will be led by Dennis Crowe, a former Army Product
Manager, Master Army Aviator, and Patuxent River Naval Test Pilot
School graduate. The 45-member team will include flight test
engineers; instrumentation and electrical engineers and technicians;
structural engineers; human factors engineers; test coordinators;
and special projects officers.
